After a VERY long time, we were able to complete the making of wooden pendants! Not an easy task at all… they are so small to lathe! But, here they are! They came out amazing and I am pretty sure people will like them and would ware them…
They are made from Walnut wood and contain 1 million Mani mantras inside.

CUSTOM TABLETOP

This amazing prayer wheel was custom made for a friend that saw a wooden box that Ayelet made (the one with the owl) and asked if he could get the same design on a 50 million Mani tabletop prayer wheel for his office? What a question! Of course he can!
Here is the outcome of his request… it is sitting on his desk and spinning :-)
He also asked if we could some how make arrows to show him in which direction to spin it because he though that he will forget... so Ayelet had arrows burned on the base to show him the direction…
Came out stunning!

A NEW SIZE PRAYER WHEEL IS BORN!!

Hi everyone!

after attending the retreat led by Garchen Rinpoche, we have spoken to his translator for a while and noticed the small and beautifully made prayer wheel which she was holding and spinning the entire time she was translating... after careful examination of the prayer wheel and listening to her telling us of it's pro's and con's, we took it all in... Then another woman from the audience came to tell her that she loved her translation and also asked to see the prayer wheel she was holding in her hand... it then came to us that we need to have a small, very simple, light weight prayer wheel that would be easier to hold for long periods of time...
And here it is!
A 10 million Mani mantra prayer wheel, nothing on it, no crystal on the top... very clean and simple :-)
I have asked my wife to make me a very "artistic" one for my self and she said OK... once that one is made I will have it photographed and post it here :-)

here are two more prayer wheels we have made... both have gone to Garchen Rinpoche's Lama.

one is a 100 million Mani mantra, plain maple wood with only the mantra on the drum, and the other one is a 50 million Mani mantra, walnut finish and golden mantra on the drum.

we are SO happy to announce that the beloved Garchen Rinpoche, who got us hooked on making prayer wheels is coming to Israel at the end of this month to give a 3 day seminar!
We will finely be able to present him the prayer wheel we have made for him at the request of the sanga here in Israel! I will attach the photo for all to see... it is an amazing prayer wheel and it will be an amazing privilege to give him this gift from all of us here...

Mantras On Microfilm

As we are getting some requests lately for prayer wheels with specific mantras, we would like to remind everyone what mantras we have on microfilm and therefore can be put into prayer wheels.

1. Mani mantra
2. Green Tara mantra
3. Medicine Buddha mantra
4. 7-line prayer

As for all other requests, we cannot produce them since we do not have them on microfilm.
If for some reason we will have them on microfilm in the future, we would be announcing it right here in the blog....

Green Tara Mantra Prayer Wheel

This is a special prayer wheel that was made to a kind friend in England. It contanis 10 million Green Tara mantras inside. She has asked for a simple, "clean" prayer wheel so that is what we made for her :-)
I personally like the "naked" prayer wheel such as this one since they are rear... most people like decorations on their prayer wheels, but there is something very "clean" about these..

50 Million Mani Mantra Prayer Wheel

This is my wife's prayer wheel. She has changed about 6 wheels already because every time someone sees her wheel, they want it.
Now she has decided to paint the lotus on the top and bottom cap and the top of the handle to create closure. I like it a lot! It came out amazing! Let's see for how long she will be able to hang on to it :-)

Hi Everyone!

At some point on our journey of making prayer wheels, we have chosen to make a prayer wheel design that would satisfy us and to make them like that from now on.
In the beginning, we tried many different wheel styles, as you can see in our pictures, but that was until we found one that we like and that our customers like as well, and from now on, all of our prayer wheels will be like that.

it's been a while since i had some time to write about our progress, so i will take a few minuts to say something...

we are curently working to fill the many orders we have for prayer wheels.. some of the mani mantra, some of 7-line prayer, some medicine buddha, and some green tara mantra... many prayer wheels indeed.

lately we have recived many orders from the East part of the world, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia. it's nice to work with them :-)

may you all be free of suffering and the causes of suffering, and may you all have happiness and the causes for happiness :-)

when we make a prayer wheel, we take a piece of wood that is cut to the right length so all four parts of the wheel can be made out of it. i always make the wood a bit longer so that if i make a mistake then there is enough wood to make a spare part. but, if i did my job correctly, then from the extra piece of wood that i have i make a wood box, and my most talented wife makes it beautiful with her amazing art work... i am adding the boxes album here for you to see what it's all about.

this is the first of it's kind! we never made one before and it was a real project! the woman who ordered it wanted something special to give her husband for his birthday and she saw our work on Facebook... and 1+1=2...

she wanted a special design for the handle, as you can see in the photo... came out stunning!

the stone is to her request as well...

well, since i think i am most likely the only one who reads this blog, i will take some time here to talk to my self....
i like making "prayer wheels", and especially "handheld prayer wheels"... it's a great sense of accomplishment to make these "prayer wheels", and when i think of all the things we went through to be here, at this point in time, it's mind bending.... simply amazing...
when we (me & Ayelet) started this project almost two years ago, we had no idea that it will get to the point it's at right now... we spend SO many hours making "Tibetan prayer wheels" it's simply amazing... and there is so much more we can do.
we have made a "prayer wheel" for "H.H. the Dalai Lama" and he should get it in the next few weeks... this is simply unbelievable! we never thought we will make it here...

i would like to thank ALL the people that support us around the globe, without you non of this would be possible... THANK YOU!

A WOODEN PRAYER WHEEL PENDANT

a long time ago, we thought that we should try and make a small wooden prayer wheel like the ones made from silver that are on the market, but we never got around to it...

some time ago, we were asked by a good friend to try and make them, if it where possible because he has never seen one on the market and wondered if there was a reason why...

that rekindled a long forgotten fire!

we gave it a shot and it came out stunning!

i must say that there is a reason why they are not on the market, it is so hard to lathe such a small prayer wheel! and to paint it is even harder!

but, non the less, here it is!

this is the biggest honor we could possibly pray for, we are still in shock that this has come our way...
I have already made the prayer wheel and now it is receiving it's art work work by my wife Ayelet... soon it will be ready and i will upload pictures!

this is quiet amazing! when we started this project, we never imagined that we would go so far in such a short time. we only made 45 prayer wheels and this opportunity came along... how about that!

now, we are facing a new challange... we need to buy a new lathe to make more prayer wheels... we are in the middle of trying to raise the funds needed for this machine.
since we are working out of the factory, and we want to have our own studio, we need to buy a lathe... we hope that by making this move we will be able to make many more prayer wheels, where as of right now we can only make very little...
we pray that this will happen as soon as possible!

tibetan prayer wheel project: how it all started

Well, it all started when I saw Garchen Rinpoche when he came to give a seminar in Israel. Rinpoche had an amazingly beautiful wooden handheld prayer wheel in his hand, and he never stopped turning it…

Later, I met Martin Dobesh, and he started to tell me about a project that he wishes to do, it was a big project concerning the construction of a big stationary prayer wheel. Martin asked me to help him with the technical aspects of the project, and from there, things started rolling….My older brother, Lior, started to tell me about the benefits of constructing prayer wheels, and suggested that I put my hands on the book: "Great Wheel of Compassion", which, lucky enough for me was one of my mom's books… I immediately sat down and started to read. By the time I was done reading, my heart was jumping with joy! What an amazing idea it is to construct these wheels! I was very thankful to have been approached by Martin… little did I know where all this is going…Now came the next step, talking to the Masters to get their approval for this project. This took some time because they are so busy, and don't get to talk to their foreign students much. The answer from my root guru, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche didn't take too long to arrive and it was along the lines of:

"I approve from my inner heart that you can go ahead with your project. The most important thing is you should have good motivation to build prayer wheels. With good motivation, whatever work you do will be good for all. So if you have good motivation then you can move forward smoothly in this project".

Needless to explain how happy I was!.With the approval of my master things got rolling… it took me about 3 months to find good wood to lathe, and many phone calls later I had my wood. The mantra that fits in the wheels comes from America from a most wonderful man called Jim McCann, who got an order from Lama Zopa Rinpoche to construct prayer wheels… he then got a master reel of mantras from his holiness the Dalai Lama, and he makes microfilms from that reel made to order.

I am still in the process of refining my work (still haven’t found the perfect design) and I decided to make the wheels in the 100 million and 35 million sizes. My master plan was and still is, to make these wheels and sell them at cost plus a little profit, and to collect the little profit I make on them and when I have enough money, to construct big prayer wheels and donate them to hospitals and such places that need blessings… Since I make them with the help of my darling wife, and since we make them one by one manually, this takes time… so I am guessing that if people start to get interested in buying these wheels they will have to go on a waiting list… we do this as an "after work" project so it takes us even longer since we both have a full time jobs…
